Day 309,310… Maun/ Rundu
Day 309… Return to Bagani to camp for the night. Some more wildlife spotted and our first tiny tortoise, some great local souvenirs then its back to a full room evening with restaurant food included, a pool and wifi. In the evening we have an included restaurant meal of fantastic proportions as we wind the day to a close. Just before bed, I bump into a me berths of the Botswana soccer team (they are here to train) & get to chatting and manage to make a new friend, exchanging email and Facebook info for later.
Day 310… The following day it’s a huuuge day’s drive to Rundu (375km, approx 5 hrs) and then, leaving Rundu behind, drive to Bagani where we spend the night (340 km, approx. 6-7 hrs).
Rundu is the capital of the Kavango region of Namibia, on the border with Angola. A centre of activity for Namibia’s growing Angolan community this is a great place to explore. This is a very very good hotel so I upgrade to a full room and enjoy a good shower and some luxury with a pool and some lemon lime and bitters. Just lovely.
