Days 252… Awake to a fusion of modernity and tradition, the vibrant colours of India are truly captivating. Today is a very slow burn day. After a meager brekky i grab a hotel guy and head out to find an atm. Job done i just chill a while in the room organising my tired brain and working out ehat to do. Since I am in one of the worlds most bustling cities, I decide to head out to the Lotus Temple in airline private hotel organised taxi. Nice guy did the round trip (at over an hour either way) as well as wait for me for 30 mins while i stood in a very long, but fast moving line… much like a human based cobra poised to strike at the heart of the tourist wallet… to enter. 10 mins later I am inside, shoes off checking out this marvellous example of Bahrain faith… a gigantic tiled lotus shaped prayer hall that looks like a cloned Sydney Opera House met with an almighty botanist to create a wonderful building. Then its back we go where my adventure begins with a Welcome Meeting at 6pm on Day 1. Nice group… should be a blast. One other thing about India is the extent of the poor here… I’ve seen beggars, I’ve seen slums a d shanty town through asia and central/southern america… nothing compares to the devastating levels of poverty here in india. Just mind blowing and for the first time for me… a real culture shock.
